Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Network Operations Manager to oversee the monitoring, configuration, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure within a data center environment. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls, and will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data center network. The role requires strong technical expertise and excellent vendor and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Monitoring & Maintenance:
Oversee 24/7 monitoring of network systems to ensure uptime and performance of routers, switches, and firewalls.
Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network performance issues, bottlenecks, and outages.
Implement monitoring tools and dashboards to track network health and performance metrics.
Configuration & Troubleshooting:
Manage the configuration and installation of network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
Collaborate with internal teams to configure network setups based on project requirements.
Troubleshoot hardware and software-related network issues, escalating when necessary.
Firewall Management:
Ensure the security of network operations by managing and configuring firewalls and other security appliances.
Conduct regular audits and updates to ensure network security policies are up-to-date and compliant.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
Liaise with vendors and third-party providers for hardware purchases, network services, and support agreements.
Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, including IT and operations teams, to align network operations with business needs.
Oversee network-related SLAs and ensure prompt resolution of any vendor-related issues.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and network performance.
Provide regular status updates and reports on network performance to leadership and relevant stakeholders.
Participate in the creation of disaster recovery plans and ensure the redundancy of network systems.
Team Leadership:
Lead a team of network engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support for network-related tasks.
Develop training programs and ensure the team is up to date with the latest technologies and best practices.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Network Operations Manager, preferably in a data center environment.
Extensive knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls, and network monitoring tools.
Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, etc.) and troubleshooting methodologies.
Experience with firewall management and network security best practices.
Excellent vendor management and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent will be a plus
